The Oatmeal is one of my personal favourite websites to cure boredom. Read hilarious weird stories from comic Matthew Inman and follow along the weird and usual stories of his characters, you even create your own if you have a good idea for one.

If you have ever wanted to take part in a research study, then this website is the one for you. Zooniverse, lets you answer surveys and contribute to real-world studies, participate in arts, science, humanities and many other fields of interests, and contribute to people-powered research.
